Welcome
Normally I find that books I read just give you a story, you read it you put it down, you read another.
With this book, settle down with a glass of ale, sit by a cosy fire and let me take you back in time, to old England, a time where no police existed, just customs men and dragoons, and a trusty sword.
In this story the reader becomes one of the characters, as you turn the first page you are thrown in to the year 1735, you get to feel what its like to be in that time, trying to make a living, the cold you face, the hardship. Then the story builds for each character, from their beginnings to their violent end.
It really is a story of intrigue, mayhem, and violence. A story of smuggling from a sleepy village in the heart of Kent in the 1700’s, They started life as ordinary hard-working people and decided on a new life, one of violence and murder with the high taxation and seeing how the rich lived they too wanted that rich lifestyle and they'd do anything to get it. Their way of life changed but their friendship stayed strong. Now having a taste of a better life it seems no one could stop this gang, Its far too late to change your ways when hanging by a noose and in the end they were beaten by their own confidence.
